Characteristics of ductile iron manhole cover
1. Light weight
The ductile iron manhole cover is about 30% lighter than the same type of gray iron manhole cover due to the high strength and good toughness of ductile iron.
2. Good toughness
The impact value of ductile iron manhole covers is detailed with medium carbon steel, which is more than 10 times that of gray iron materials.
3. Good plasticity
Ductile iron manhole covers have an elongation of ≥ 7%, similar to high carbon steel, while gray iron materials have a zero elongation.
4. High strength
The tensile strength ó b ≥ 420MPa and yield strength ó s ≥ 300MPa of ductile iron manhole covers are the same as low-carbon steel and three times as that of gray iron materials.
